Brand Identity Guidelines

Brand guidelines are the document that keeps a brand consistent once other people start using it. Brand Veneer Studio produces guidelines for Kenyan businesses covering logo usage, colour ratios, typography, imagery and applications — with a fully organised asset library, from KES 80,000.

Scope

Exactly what this covers.

01

What the document covers

Logo system and correct usage, clear space and minimum sizes, prohibited treatments shown as examples rather than described. Colour specified in HEX, RGB, CMYK and Pantone with usage ratios and contrast guidance.

Typography as a working scale — sizes, weights, line heights and case rules — plus imagery and iconography direction and a set of application examples across print, digital and environment.

02

The asset library

Guidelines fail when the files are scattered. Every engagement ships a structured asset library: logo variants in AI, EPS, SVG and PNG, favicon set, colour swatch files for Adobe and Figma, licensed or fallback fonts, and editable template sources.

Delivered as a print-ready PDF and a shareable link so a printer in Nairobi and a developer abroad are working from the same version.

How it runs

The process, week by week.

01 · Week 1

Audit

We inventory every asset in circulation and record where the brand is currently drifting.

02 · Week 2

Rule setting

Usage rules, colour ratios and the type scale are defined and pressure-tested against real materials.

03 · Weeks 3–4

Production

The document is designed and written, with application examples drawn from your actual surfaces.

04 · Week 4

Rollout

Asset library assembled, plus a team walkthrough so the rules are understood, not just delivered.

Why it matters

Guidelines commissioned on their own frequently surface gaps in the identity itself — a palette with no neutrals, or a logo with no small-size variant. Where that happens we scope the correction as visual identity work rather than quietly widening the document.

Questions

Answered plainly.

Clear scope, no hidden assumptions. Open any question for the practical answer.

We already have a logo. Is that enough to build guidelines?

Usually not on its own. Guidelines need a colour system, a type system and imagery direction to govern. Where those are missing we build them as part of the engagement and price it transparently.

How long are your guidelines documents?

Typically 30–60 pages. Length follows the number of surfaces the brand touches — a single-location service business needs less than a multi-product retailer.

Can our internal team update the document later?

Yes. Editable source files are handed over on request, and the structure is deliberately modular so a section can be added without redesigning the document.
